Ruthie is a young shihtzu with a ton of energy! She is about 18 months old with a cute little under bite giving her a bit if an impish look to match her personality. Ruthie came from a high kill shelter. She was matted, dirty and a bit of a mess. But underneath was a sweet girl who just wants to know everything there is in life. She starts out a little slow. She might have had some tough times in her youth. But once she feels sage she blossoms into a sweet dog that shows you her belly if she thinks she has done something wrong. Ruthie needs a yard to romp in and someone to keep her busy and out of trouble. She runs around the tree like a kid just let out of school when she goes out in the yard. Her BFF is another dog Mia. Ruthie is always tugging at Mia’s leg or arm trying to get her to play. She would be good with a dog friend who is willing to play and can keep up with her. Other times she just gives Mia kisses. Ruthie thinks it is her job to be the family guard dog. She will stand sentry at the gate and let the neighbors and passer bys what her job is. She can be quite the busy body, and often wants to have the last word. Ruthie like all young dogs will flourish with some structure and training. Ruthie is smart and will follow a leader easily. She is house trained but still has some times she forgets. She will benefit from her own home. Ruthie gets along with dogs, cats and everyone she meets.
